Lynne Duncan supervises research on a range of topics within the areas of language and reading development as well as skilled word recognition. Topics of particular interest are phonological development (speech and reading), the impact of meta-cognitive control over language, the role of visual spatial attention in word recognition and the acquisition of knowledge about derivational morphology. It would also be possible for research on these topics to be conducted from a cross-linguistic or bilingual/L2 perspective, or with a focus on populations who suffer impairments in language (e.g. SLI) or reading acquisition (e.g. developmental dyslexia).
